The wild north Cornwall Atlantic coast is a stunning place to visit and a fabulous inspiration to artists.
I painted this after a visit on a particularly blustery day. I tried to capture the power of the sea after being captivated by ‘Porthkragen’ the Cornish name for this little cove. The coastline is distinctive here, Crackington Haven was a harbour in the nineteenth century as it provides some protection from the rough Atlantic.
This piece is painted in Daler-Rowney oils and protected by two coats of artist quality gloss varnish and is corded at the back ready to hang.
45.5 cm height x 61 cm width x 1.5 depth
